These ornaments are carved from soapstone in Western Kenya. They are painted and etched by young men who sell soapstone at the Kisumu stalls. They are decorated on both sides. Each is individually packaged. Each ornament is approximately 4 inches long and 2 inches tall.

I purchased this ornament for my son who had spent his junior semester in Kenya.  It is meant as a memento of his studies/work there and is a wonderful addition to our memory tree.  Continued success to you and the artisans who fashioned it.
